Works per diem in waste-to-energy facilities and manufacturing mills. 100% travel is required as well as the ability to get oneself to and from any job site. Must work alternate times and varying work shifts as required to complete job assignments. Work loads are busiest September to June however must be ready, willing and able to work throughout entire year, often with short notice.
Must be motivated, self directing, have a positive attitude and be able to work well in a team culture. Must be able to work alongside customers and other contractors in both union and non-union environments. Must have basic math and communication abilities as well as problem solving skills.
Basic job requirements:
Remove, replace, repair and install industrial related machinery of all types. The majority of this work involves paper making and waste to energy processing equipment. Must perform work in accordance with specifications and work-scopes in a timely and professional manner.
Work with hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, welders, measuring equipment and rigging equipment. Insure tooling and equipment is kept clean, orderly and operational.
Must work safely in an industrial environment. Follow all work and safety rules and actively participate in training and safety meetings. Attendance at annual training conducted at Argyle base of operations is a requirement for continued employment.
Required skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience.
Use of hand and power tools including grinders, saws, drills.
Desired skills:
Proficiency & experience in metal working including stick mig, and tig welding, plasma arc, arc gouging and oxy-acetylene torches
Metal working lay out & fabrication experience.
Forklift and man lift operations
Pipe fitting experience
Technical drawing reading
Optical alignment equipment knowledge and experience.
Knowledge & experience of rigging equipment and practices
Physical requirements:
Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 lbs, climb ladders and work on scaffolding. Routine bending, reaching, stretching, pushing and pulling actions required. Ability to work in a variety of physical positions at various heights to complete specific tasks.
Wear Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to safety glasses, hardhats, hearing protection, steel toed work boots, ½ face and full face respirators (must be able to be certified in ability to wear respirators), and protective coveralls as required on every job site.
